East African Community drafts Textured soya protein products Specification

Development of the East African Standards has been necessitated by the need for harmonizing requirements governing quality of products and services in the East African Community. This draft East African Standard DEAS 802:2022 specifies the requirements sampling and test methods for textured soya protein products intended for human consumption.  It provides the details such as definitions, General requirements, Specific requirements, Food ingredients, Sampling, Hygiene, Contaminants such as Pesticide residues, Heavy metals, Packing, Labelling. It is open for comments till Feb 2023
