The East African Standards Committee has released a draft on natural orange extract

To safeguard customer health, this proposed draft East African standard has been updated to reflect recent developments in natural orange extract to ensure the safety and quality. ||

Ethyl alcohol, water and orange extractives are contents of natural orange extract. ||

General requirements includes the characteristic aroma, flavour and colour; and not be mixed with any synthetic flavour material. Physicochemical requirements includes alcohol % (v/v), specific gravity and pH content. ||

Specifications for hygienic condition and microbiological limits as well as contaminants, pesticide residues, heavy metals along with packaging requirements, Labelling and Sampling Representative samples are described in this article. ||
