The Board of Food Standards Australia New Zealand gives notice of the application of: Glucoamylase from GM Aspergillus niger as a processing aid and Bovine Lactoferrin in Infant Formula Products

The following modifications are being made in accordance with section 92 of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991, the Board of Food Standards Australia New Zealand notifies. The change will take effect on April 17, 2023. 

1) Glucoamylase from GM Aspergillus niger as a processing aid (gene donor: Penicillium oxalicum). The glucoamylase gene comes from Penicillium oxalicum and is found in the protein variation glucoamylase (EC 3.2.1.3) derived from Aspergillus niger.  

2) Variation with relation to products containing bovine lactoferrin in infant formula. Bovine lactoferrin is a protein made of a single polypeptide chain of 689 amino acids that is generated from cow's milk.
