South Korea seeks public comment on draft revision to the food contact material standard

From October 14, 2022, South Korea is seeking public comments on draft amendment to ‘Standards and Specifications for Utensils, Containers and Packages’. It intends to add polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT) to the list of allowed material for food contact in resins. It details the standards and requirements for recycled plastic materials used for utensils, containers and packages. Public comments can be submitted by December 13, 2022.
