The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a draft notification requiring the Indian Nutrition Rating (INR) logo to be printed on food packets. It will let consumers know about high salt, fat, and sugar contents in the packaged item and thereby allow them to make informed choices while purchasing them. Rating will be in range of ½ star (least healthy) to 5 stars (healthiest). Public comments are sought withing sixty days from the date of publication of this draft in the Official Gazette.
