France: Court suspends the Decree restricting use of "meaty" names on plant-based products

In a lawsuit filed against a French Decree which was intended to come into effect in October 2022 and contained labeling restrictions to ban the use of the word 'meat' (or related phrases such as “bacon” and "steak") on vegan food products,  the French Conseil d’Etat (France’s highest court) suspended enforcement of this Decree by expressing serious doubt about its legality and found it misleading in terms of providing consumer information.
