Brazil establishes the phytosanitary requirements for the importation of citrus latifolia acid lime fruits from Mexico

Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock/Secretary of Agricultural Defense, Brazil established the phytosanitary requirements for the importation of citrus latifolia acid lime fruits produced in Mexico. It states that the shipment must be accompanied by a Phytosanitary Certificate - CF, issued by the National Phytosanitary Protection Organization of Mexico. Shipments are subject to inspection at the point of entry (Phytosanitary Inspection - FI), as well as the collection of samples for phytosanitary analysis. Interception of a quarantine pest, the shipment will be destroyed or rejected and the NPPO of Mexico will be notified, and the NPPO of Brazil may suspend imports of acid lime fruits until the review of the corresponding Pest Risk Analysis. This Ordinance comes into force on March 1, 2023.
