Brazil approves the Standardization of the nomenclature of Egg and products

Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock/Secretary of Agricultural Defense issued an ordinance that approves the standardization of the nomenclature of wild eggs and egg products not subjected to heat treatment. It applies mandatorily to those originating from the species Gallus gallus domesticus. It is mandatory to declare the color and category of the egg, on the product label, after indicating the official nomenclature. There are 2 categories given for nomenclature, out of which category B eggs will be called industrial type eggs, with no need for color and weight discrimination. This Ordinance comes into force on March 1, 2023.
