National Food Commission(CONAL) includes a two new species of Red algae(Rhodophyta) which are Lithotamnium calcareum and Phymatolithon calcareum in food code of "Article 923 tris" to be used as an ingredient in food products as general and in dietary supplements for its calcium content. The content included was definition,specifications like colour,odour,calcium content etc. Further it adds that it must be marketed "dehydrated and ground/powdered".
