Ukraine announces the adoption of the "Requirements for materials and articles made of regenerated cellulose film intended for contact with foodstuffs" of December 29, 2022, which lays out the specifications for materials and items made of regenerated cellulose film intended for contact with foods.
- Regenerated cellulose film that is intended to come into contact with foodstuffs or that already does so and that:
-constitutes a finished product in and of itself; or
-forms a component of a finished product that comprises other materials is subject to the requirements.
- Synthetic casings manufactured of regenerated cellulose are exempt from the requirement.
- This regulation was proposed for adoption on 29 December 2022. It will entry into force on 7 February 2023 and will become fully effective from November 19, 2025.-It is open for comments till 16 April 2023.
