Tanzania proposes specification for mustard seed oil

Tanzania has drafted standard for mustard seed oil made from the seeds of Brassica species intended for human consumption. The standard outlines the specifications, sampling, and testing procedures for mustard seed oil made from  white mustard (Sinapis alba L. or Brassica hirta Moench), brown and yellow mustard (Brassica juncea (L.) Czernajew and Cossen), and black mustard (Brassica nigra (L.) Koch. The Tanzanian standard was developed using significant inputs from CODEX STAN 210 -1999 (Revised 2019), a Codex standard for named vegetable oils issued by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.
