Guidance on Importing organic food to the UK

To import organic food to the UK:

The Consignee must be based in the UK and may need a certificate of inspection (COI) to import organic food. 

This applies even if the Consignee importing a product or sample that is not intended for sale. The control body can guide when the Consignee need a COI and how to get one. 

The Consignee may need a certificate of inspection (COI) to import organic food. The consignee does not need a COI to import organic food from the European Economic Area, EEA, and Switzerland from these countries to Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
