EFSA Invites Public Inputs on New Recycling Process Application: Loreco Plast Recyclage S.A.S._VACUNITE®

Loreco Plast Recyclage S.A.S. has recently submitted a comprehensive application, backed by studies and scientific data, for the authorization of their innovative recycling process, Loreco Plast Recyclage S.A.S._VACUNITE®. This process focuses on converting post-consumer PET flakes into food grade pellets using the Vacunite (EREMA VACUREMA BASIC + Polymetrix SSP VLEAN) technology.

The submitted data will undergo rigorous scrutiny by EFSA to assess its relevance to risk assessment and compliance with regulatory provisions. As part of the assessment process, EFSA has initiated a consultation to determine if there are additional scientific data, studies, or supporting information that should be considered. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments by May 31, 2023.
