EFSA Calls for Public Input on New Food Enzyme Application

DSM Food Specialties B.V. has recently submitted an application for the authorization of a new food enzyme called Phosphoinositide phospholipase C (PIC). This enzyme is derived from a genetically modified strain of Pseudomonas fluorescens. The application, made under Regulation EC 282/2008 will be assessed by EFSA to ensure safety and effectiveness of the enzyme for use in food production.

To ensure a thorough assessment, interested parties are encouraged to participate in the consultation. The public comment period will remain open until May 26, 2023
