Thailand imposes temporary ban on importation of importation of live domestic pigs and wild pigs and their carcasses from Italy

Ban on importing live domestic and wild pigs, as well as their carcasses, from Italy, which went into effect on October 28, 2022, reportedly expired on January 25, 2023. According to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), African Swine Fever is still spreading in the region of Italy. As a result, Thailand temporarily bans the importation of live domestic and wild pigs, as well as their carcasses, from Italy for a period of 90 days i.e., till 7 May 2023 under the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015).
