Singapore consults on Draft Food (Amendment No. Y) Regulations 2022 (VETERINARY DRUG RESIDUES)

The following changes to the Food Regulations are suggested by SFA: a) To establish maximum residue limits (MRLs) for veterinary drug residues in food; b) To update the Food Regulations' definition of "veterinary drugs" to conform to the Codex Alimentarius Commission's terminology; c) To replace the term "antibiotic" and its definition in the Food Regulations with the term "antimicrobial agent," which is consistent with the Codex Alimentarius Commission's terminology.
