Philippines revised the guidelines on food additives and processing aid

Philippines FDA issued draft on guidelines for food additives and processing aids.| The draft specifies:| All food manufacturers and distributors should have Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) before doing sale, distribution, and use of food additives.|The maximum level of caffeine used as flavor in cola-type beverages is 200 ppm.|Issued definitions for the following terms: adulterated, Acceptable Daily Intake “Not Specified” (NS), Artificial Synthethic Colors, Natural colours etc|The use of Cyclamic acid and its salts listed in GSFA and its future revisions/amendments/updates is allowed.|If food additives are to be used as flavoring substances, they shall abide by the Codex Guidelines for the Use of Flavorings and more details can be found in the source link.
