On May 10, 2023, the Department of Food Safety and Quality of the Ministry of Health of Malaysia released the Food Regulations No. 2 Amendment Draft of 2023, and the feedback period ends on June 9, 2023. The main revisions are:
(1) It is supplemented that the label of skim milk should be marked with the words "not suitable for infants under 2 years old" in bold font in a prominent position
(2) Revise the description of the processing technology of pasteurized milk
(3) Revise the regulations on the use of food additives in milk with malt powder, that is, no other food additives shall be added except for flavoring agents
(4) Revise the definition of reconstituted milk and stipulate that no food additives shall be added to it.
