India to introduce new kind of business for 'Fish and fish products'

As per FSS (Food Products standards and food additives) Regulations 2011, Fish and Fish prodcuts fall under 9.0 food product category. Earlier Fish and Fish products were licensed either under General manufacturing or Meat processing Kind of Business (KoB), there was no separate KoB for Manufacturers of these products. Hence the Authority has decided to introduce a new KoB for ‘Fish and Fish Products’. Accordingly, the inspection checklist, applicable to such manufacturers, to inspect these units on specified parameters, has been developed. FBOs can take printout of updated license from Food Safety Compliance system login.
