FSSAI Implements Revised Limits for Manganese, Selenium, Biotin, and Iron in Infant Foods Ahead of Amendment Regulations

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a directive to reinstate the revised limits for Manganese, Selenium, Biotin, and Iron in certain Infant Foods, effective from April 1, 2023. This decision comes as the draft FSS (Food For Infant Nutrition) Amendment Regulations, 2022 are currently undergoing a process of Public Consultation and require additional time for finalization.

The revised limits have been implemented in response to representations received from industry associations, ensuring compliance with safety standards while supporting the infant food industry.
