WTO received a notification for East African Standards Committee draft on food grade acesulfame potassium

East African Standard defines requirements, sampling, and testing methods for food-grade acesulfame potassium via new released draft. ||
Food-grade acesulfame potassium is white, odourless, and soluble in water and ethanol and it should always meet the requirements when tested for organic impurities using the methods described within this document. ||
It should pass 20 mg/kg UV active component, loss on drying (105 °C, 2 h) max 1 % m/m, and pH at 1% solution in water should be 5.5-7.5. Maximum limits for contaminant are given for fluoride and lead. ||
Labelling and sampling requirements are described to followed for this product. ||
