US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Amends the color additive regulations

In response to a color additive petition (CAP) submitted by Colorcon, based on the data and information in the petition and other available relevant information, FDA concluded that the use of calcium carbonate for as a color additive in dietary supplement tablets and capsules, including coatings and printing inks, is considred safe. Therefore color additive regulations are amended with calcium carbonate, its uses and restrictions.
