U.S. FDA Guidance: Evaluating the Safety of Antimicrobial New Animal Drugs with Regard to their Microbiological Effects on Bacteria of Human Health Concern

A new Draft Guidance for Industry, titled Evaluating the Safety of Antimicrobial New Animal Drugs with Regard to their Microbiological Effects on Bacteria of Human Health Concern, has been made available by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The document describes a risk assessment methodology to analyse the threat that new antimicrobial animal medications represent to microbiological food safety due to antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
